 Another Message for all our Class of 1965 Things
are looking good now that the planning group in Eagle Pass have held
several meetings. They are now setting up the event itinerary for
the Friday and Saturday reunion in Eagle Pass. The meeting scheduled
for March 10th has been cancelled. We will post the next meeting date
and the final details for our reunion. Meeting Place: Dannys Time: 7:00pm Date: Pending In the coming weeks, some will be making contact with all grads in order to get your mailing address that are needed for registration and mailings. So please help us. If you wish to send your mailing address you can also do that here by sending it thru email to epawebmaster@yahoo.com Details will be posted as they develop so stay tune. Those that are able to attend are very welcomed. Results will be relayed to all others with more precise information and details of our reunion. Suggestions are always welcomed.   Sounds from the Past
Roy Kelton Orbison was an American singer-songwriter and musician, well known for his distinctive, powerful voice, complex compositions, and dark emotional ballads. Orbison grew up in Texas and began singing in a rockabilly / country & western band in high school until he was signed by Sun Records in Memphis. His greatest success was with Monument Records in the early 1960s where 22 of his songs placed on the Top Forty, including "Only the Lonely", "Crying", "In Dreams", and "Oh, Pretty Woman". His career stagnated through the 1970s, but several covers of his songs and the use of one in a film by David Lynch revived his career in the 1980s. He joined the supergroup The Traveling Wilburys with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Jeff Lynne and released an album in 1988. He died of a heart attack at the age of 52, at the zenith of his resurgence. _________________
The Charcoal Grill will forever be in
our memories as a gathering
place for the Class of 1964. It was not only students that would
congregate at this location, it was also our teachers including Mr.
Oscar Barrientos, Mr. Lozano and Mr. Ricardo Salinas. Like him, many of
us enjoyed the popular Charcoal
hamburger served to you in a straw basket with a side order of french
fries and a cherry lime coke all for less than one dollar while you
listen to "Only The Lonely" in the year 1964. Along with the food
you also got
a good dose of Thelma's quick wit as she served everyone. I still remember Mr. Brown standing outside the front door making sure that everything was ok. During the week, I would take a short break from homework to drive to the Charcoal for a hamburger. Curb services was convenient and you could eat in your car then head back home to finish your homework. Weekends were a different matter.  The Sounds of our Times - 1965
You
know I wonder how many of us can still remember how much we looked
forward to Friday night football games at Eagle Field. It was extra
special when you had someone to take to the school dance following the
game. Doused in Aqua Velva and wearing those super thin ties set the
trend of the time. One can only wonder how many serious
