On my way to 1965 Class Reunion
April 15,
2010
Dear Fellow Class Member,
As believable or unbelievable as it may seem, 2010 marks our 45th
Graduation Anniversary from EPHS.
Should
we uncork the Champaign Bottle and say Cheers and celebrate this
occasion or should we just ignore it and let it pass by. This was one
of the questions that the core group of the 1965 Class Reunion Group
wrestled with in determining if we should have a reunion or not.
At
this point we have a group of twelve classmates meeting regularly and
we have decided that some how or another we will meet and celebrate for
old time sakes our 45th Anniversary. If we have a t least 30 couples to
attend, we plan on a two day event. On October 8th, a Friday will be
our registration and on Saturday October 9th we will celebrate with a
dinner and dance.
If we do not have the numbers necessary we
will still celebrate by meeting with those who respond by getting
together, reminiscing and enjoying good old time's conversation with
fellow classmates and getting reacquainted with each other.
In
order to determine how many classmates to expect, we must have a
commitment, that means we must have received your application with the
appropriate fee no later than August 1st, in order to commit to our
date, hall and caterer.
As we have been meeting these past
months one thing is evident, we have a great time each time we meet to
plan our reunion and activities. There is never a shortage of good
conversation and we look forward to each meeting.
This is our
personal invitation to you to be part of our 45th Reunion Celebration.
Our class has traditionally had great reunions and we feel this will
not be an exception whether big or small.
One of our group's
members has said that this may be our "Last Hurrah", we hope not. We
think our Class and classmates still have enough Spunk, Vitality, and
Spontaneity, to kick our ailments, problems or other difficulties
goodbye and enjoy two days of fun and entertainment. While you are at
it you may even want to do a little Casino Visiting on the side as we
have the only Casino in Texas.
Won't you join us and be part of
our celebration? Hear the oldies and we may even bring back to life the
King, Elvis to perform one last time. There may even be more surprises.
So Ladies put on your high heels, your red party dress or what ever and
guys put on your boots, sneakers or sandals what ever makes you
comfortable and happy and we will see you there. But most important of
all don't forget to send your application in with your fee.
LETS ALL RELIVE THOSE MEMORIES ONE MORE TIME AND THANK YOU.
THE 1965 CLASS REUNION COMMITTEE LOOKS FORWARD TO SEEING U, U, AND U.

The
Charcoal Grill will forever be in
our memories as a gathering
place for the Class of 1964. It was not only students that would
congregate at this location, it was also our teachers including Mr.
Oscar Barrientos, Mr. Lozano and Mr. Ricardo Salinas. Like him, many of
us enjoyed the popular Charcoal
hamburger served to you in a straw basket with a side order of french
fries and a cherry lime coke all for less than one dollar while you
listen to "Only The Lonely" in the year 1964. Along with the food
you also got
a good dose of Thelma's quick wit as she served everyone.
I still remember Mr. Brown standing outside the front door making sure
that everything was ok. During the week, I would take a short break
from homework to drive to the Charcoal for a hamburger. Curb services
was convenient and you could eat in your car then head back home to
finish your homework. Weekends were a different matter. Email us some of your
high school photos
If
we get some photos from our high school years taken from your personal
albums, we will post them on a separate page so that we can all see
them. They can be from football nights, dance night, proms, talent
shows or graduation. You can email your photo to epawebmaster@yahoo.com
