  The recent rain has ended the long lasting absence of rainfall in the San Antonio area with the measured rainful in the last two days. The rain is expected to continue for a few more days which is a welcome sight. Photo taken at the intersection of El Dorado St and Nunes St. in the near southside of the city.  One only needs to drive down any southside street in the city to see the proliferation of people selling their possessions to the highest bidder. Many are having community yard sales for the first time but quickly learning how it's done.  The sign read "FREE FOOD" and as it turned out there was free food with no guimicks. La Iglesia Mas Que Vencedores which is located at 3814 S. Flores is providing free food for those it its neighborhood. Pastor Sammy Alvarez and Hermano Nava have provided this service for the past four years and vow to continue as long as food contributions continue. At one time, they used to take this food into Mexico but restrictions to enter Mexico became difficult, so they decided to distribute the food in their southside neighborhood.  The Sam Hurd Football camp took place Saturday morning on Burbank's football fields with Hurd himself providing a one on one training to hundreds of kids from the San Antonio and surrounding area. As we all know, Sam Hurd from San Antonio, Texas is an American football wide receiver in the NFL for the Dallas Cowboys.  Representing the Harlandale Lil' Indians Football & Cheer Camp at this weekend's Sam Hurd Football camp were four Harlandale supporters. The controversial Bikini Car Wash on S. Flores appears to be thriving with business despite the protests of nearby residents. The manager defends his right to have such a business citing his compliance with all city regulations and vows to continue his operation. The location on S. The fire took place on Tuesday, May 6 and was attributed to an electrical short in the attic. It took 180 firefighters and several hours to bring it under control.
