They really were the good times.... I am quite surprised to see the number of people that come to this page. I assume that most must be from the 60's that still enjoy music as it was then. Not only could you hear this song by the Drifters at the Charcoal but played on KEPS with Henry Staten as the DJ. "Save The Last Dance For Me"
You can dance-every dance with the guy Who gives you the eye,let him hold you tight You can smile-every smile for the man Who held your hand neath the pale moon light But don't forget who's takin' you home And in whose arms you're gonna be So darlin' save the last dance for me Oh I know that the music's fine Like sparklin' wine,go and have your fun Laugh and sing, but while we're apart Don't give your heart to anyone But don't forget who's takin' you home And in whose arms you're gonna be So darlin' save the last dance for me Baby don't you know I love you so Can't you feel it when we touch I will never never let you go I love you oh so much You can dance,go and carry on Till the night is gone And it's time to go If he asks if you're all alone Can he walk you home, you must tell him no 'Cause don't forget who's taking you home And in whose arms you're gonna be Save the last dance for me 'Cause don't forget who's taking you home And in whose arms you're gonna be So darling, save the last dance for me Save the last dance for me Save the last dance for me. ![]() Eagle Pass High School ![]() ![]() ![]()

In memory of ![]() Frank (Hector) Barrientos I ran across someone who was in my squad during the war. The link is to the article in the Pocono Record which read, "As light of day ushered out the darkness I caught a glimpse of a dead North Vietnamese soldier only a few feet from where I slept. Startled at first, I drew my weapon on him. The darkness had kept his presence a secret as he laid there pale and lifeless through the night. He was no threat. The upper part of his chest including his right arm were missing. As I rose I stared at this soldier and felt good that he was dead, but couldn't help feel sorry for him at the same time. He also made me feel good that I was alive, that my life was not a statistic, a casualty, my name would not be used in past tense. I turned away and tried not to look at his frozen expression." --- Here's the letter I sent to the editor of the Pocono Record:I stumbled across Melanie Vanderveer's article of May 25, 2008, on Michael "Mickey" Moynihan Jr. The article is entitled "Vietnam veteran reflects on quiet desperation in his memoir on war." In '69 - '70, I was the combat squad leader for the 1st Squad, 3rd Platoon, C Company, 2/12th Cavalry. We (C Company) lived in the jungle between LZ Buttons and the Cambodian border. Mickey was assigned to my squad, when he got to the jungle. It was the depth of the monsoon season. I was deeply touched by the article. I was transported, visually and emotionally, to that time and place. My term of service ended about a week before the Cambodian invasion. I'm glad to know Mickey survived it. Please give Mickey a big hug for me. Frank (Hector) Barrientos ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() epawebmaster@yahoo.com
